Wii Mini coming to America
Redesigned console bundled with Mario Kart Wii for $99
Nintendo has announced it will be selling Wii Mini in the US by the middle of November.
The smaller, redesigned version of the Wii was previously released in the UK and Canada, and now Nintendo will be selling it in the United States.
The console will cost $99 and be bundled with a free copy of Mario Kart Wii.
"Wii mini offers the same fun experience as Wii, which has been enjoyed by millions of people around the world," said Nintendo Of America executive vice president of sales and marketing Scott Moffitt in a statement.
"And it comes packaged with Mario Kart Wii, a multiplayer Mario racing game that is one of the best-selling Wii games. At such a great price, it is an extraordinary value for shoppers this holiday season."
Wii Mini was released in Canada on December 7, 2012. Between its launch and January 31, it sold 35,700 units.
It then launched in the UK on March 22, with retailers selling it for £80.
The flat resting system features a manual release top-loading disc tray, comes in matte black with a red border, and is also packaged with the Wii sensor bar and a red MotionPlus controller and Nunchuk.
The console has no internet connectivity options or GameCube support, but is compatible with 1,200 disc-based Wii games and supports "most" Wii accessories.
