PC gamers will be able to use the DualShock 4 to play games on their Windows machines when the PS4 arrives in November.
When quizzed on drivers for the new controller, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida told his Twitter followers that Windows systems will support the DS4 at launch.
Specifically, Yoshida said that "basic functions" such as "the analogue sticks and buttons" will "work just fine".
The exec didn't address the question of whether drivers would later be released to allow support for the controller's other functions, including its touch pad, motion sensors and Lightbar.
It is highly likely, however, that unofficial Windows drivers will be written for full DS4 support, as was the case for the PS3's DualShock 3 controller.
Sony has confirmed a PS4 launch date of November 15 in US and November 29 in Europe and Latin America. 'Launch window' titles would typically be expected to fall in the three months following.
